Tsunami Team The name says it all. The Tsunami Team is our Age Group Team and is reserved for those dedicated swimmers, 14 and under, working towards regional and USA-S meet standards/times. The group continually works to improve conditioning and strokes, fine tune starts, turns and finishes with the goal of improving race times. This is an excellent program for the advanced elementary and middle school aged swimmers looking to earn their STAGS and TAGS and preparing to make the leap to Jr. Nationals. The Tsunami Team practices four days a week and swimmers are required to take part in USA-S and summer league swim meets. An 80% attendance record is required.
Age Group 2008/09 Practice Schedule:
My swimmer is a good Riptide (Developmental) swimmer, are they ready for the Tsunami team? Commitment is the key to success at this level. Athletes are expected to practice four mornings a week and compete at a very high level. Coaches will push swimmers to excel in every aspect of the sport, on deck and in the water. Not every Riptide swimmer is ready for this level of commitment to the sport. Parents, swimmer and coach must weigh the swimmers ability, aptitude and attitude before moving to this level. A tryout with a HSC coach is required to be placed on the Tsunami Team and a swimmer should have achieved two STAGS times prior to placement on the team.
